Hyperion System 9.3.1 services startup order

Ok so now we have installed Hyperion system 9.3.1 with Shared Services, Essbase, Planning, Workspace and Reporting. I’m hoping that by now you would be able to install the Hyperion Smartview by yourself. If you need help with this please leave a comment and I’ll be happy to assist.

The next step here is to start the Hyperion Services. Starting these in the correct order is crucial and affects the way the applications interact with each other. Below is the list in the order the services need to be started:

The following services are set to start automatically:

Hyperion S9 Shared Services
Hyperion S9 OpenLDAP
Hyperion S9 Apache 2.0
HyperionRMIRegistry

Once you have confirmed the above services are running, start the following services ensuring the each one has started before starting the next.

Hyperion S9 BI+ 9.3 Core Services 1
Hyperion S9 EPM Architect Process Manager
Hyperion S9 BI+ Analytic Services 9.3.1 – hypservice
Hyperion S9 Administration Services ATS5
Hyperion S9 Provider Services ATS5
Hyperion S9 BI+ 9.3 Financial Reporting Java RMI Registry
Hyperion S9 BI+ 9.3 Financial Reporting Print Server
Hyperion S9 BI+ 9.3 Financial Reporting Report Server
Hyperion S9 BI+ 9.3 Financial Reporting Scheduler Server
Hyperion S9 BI+ 9.3 Web Analysis
Hyperion S9 BI+ 9.3 Workspace
Hyperion S9 EPM Architect Data Synchronization ATS5
Hyperion S9 EPM Architect Web ATS5
Hyperion S9 BI+ 9.3 Financial Reporting Web application
Hyperion S9 Planning

This above services can also be scripted and ran from a batch file. If you’d like the startup and shutdown batch files then please leave a comment or email me: admin@atmyplace.co.uk

I was really pleasantly surprised when I saw the script already available in the new Hyperion System 11.1.1.2.  In my opinion this should have been done way long time ago, but better late than never I guess.

Good morning. I am using Excel 2007 with the Smartview add in. Since adding the add-in I cannot save a new or renamed excel file. I believe that we are using Smartview 9.3.0.1.

Hi Orgeron, You should try a later version of SmartView addin. Go to http://edelivery.oracle.com and you should be able to download the latest version from there.
