I’d heard from some of our consultants in California that the new system 11 was tricky to install and it had so many complications. For that reason I never really thought about installing it until I had some time on my hands. Unfortunately that time will never come so a couple of days ago I decided to give it a go on my old xp system. To my amazement it worked first time and it was the easiest install yet….
That was all good until I created a datasource and after the next reboot I couldn’t get some of the services to start up. No time to deal with that right away but it gave me an idea for the next exercise. I’d like to create a step by step guide on how to install, configure and troubleshoot for EPM 11.1.1.2, however I need to know which operating system you’d like to install it on. I’ve been blogging for nearly a month now and I know it’s early days but I’d like to receive some feedback and some comments from you guys, therefore I will begin the System 11.1.1.2 tutorial when I have received 30 comments on this site. You don’t need to register to leave a comment and it only takes a few seconds. Thanks
Windows Server 2003 would be a good option
Sam is right. Windows server 2003 would be a good start. I would also like to think you for providing us with a lot of useful information.
Thanks
I would like to have a guide for Windows XP. Just because I have trouble to get it running…
I have followed your installation for Hyperion Planning 9.3.1 and it has been extremely useful! particularly the order of how the stack should be installed. As for Hyperion Planning 11.1.1, if possible my interest is to see it installed on Windows server 2003. Thanks a ton! (for the previous blogs + future to come)

Currently we are using Hyperion 8.3.2 on AIx 5.2 and we are targeting an upgrade to Hyperion 11 on AIX 6.1.
Any help on this will be appreciated.
I installed on WIN-XP. All seemed fine but the next day after restarting the computer, I tried logging onto EAS . Login failed with message “Could not connect”
I checked Windows services and saw that all Hyperion services were started except Workspace Agent Service, and Hyperion Annotation Services. I started them but no luck.
I poked around a bit and tried a few things but nothing seems to help.
Thanks for info.
Awaiting for your presentation in EPM 11.1.1.1 on Windows 2003 server or Vista.
Regards
i m eagerly waiting for it
Hi Larry, XP is not the best OS to install Hyperion on. You will get countless issues and unimagineable instability. It’s great if you want to keep yourself busy fixing issues but you’re better off installing on Windows 2003.
Windows 2003 would be a great start
Hi
Could you also cover the issues which one might have to lookout for when they are upgrading please. and could you also cover FDM & fdrm please.
Thanks
